JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is for a Systems Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert for deploying Windows10 OS to a virtual environment.  The SE will be required to work with MS-Windows10 OS in a virtual infrastructure to ensure compliance is achieved within the deliverable period of performance provided.  The SE will provide Systems Engineering support to Windows installation/deployments, and will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations, and regarding associated problems, issues or conflicts.  The SE will also be required to communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and other stakeholders as necessary. 
The SE will also provide configuration management support coordinating system changes, software updates, and integration with the hardware baseline. Primary responsibilities include coordinating engineering activities to transition the Agency to a Utility Cloud (UC) environment, and include partnering with supporting organizations.  The SE will assist in the architecture development, planning, process engineering, and dependency/interface planning for the UC deployment efforts.  The SE will oversee the integration of the hardware/software architecture, processes, and plans for VDI deployments. Documentation may include systems configuration, architectural, software and systems engineering, system operations, testing, and user documentation.
 
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience OR a High School Diploma or GED plus nineteen (19) years of general system engineering experience OR a Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience OR a PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field from an accredited college or university plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.

MANDATORY SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous experience working with Windows10.
  • Experience in software deployment.
  • Previous experience with automation/scripting.
  • Experience with Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Active Directory (AD), and/or POSH (ClojureScript / React library).
  • Configuration Management experience and with scheduling and coordination. Successful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organization skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple activities to produce solutions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organizational management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
