JOB DESCRIPTION:

This position provides Systems Engineering support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of client-assigned cloud-based systems for the Cryptographic Physical Product Modernization (CPPM) office. Manages systems’ infrastructure and any processes related to these systems. Provides engineering support to systems including monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/ storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc.  Provides support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers.  Provides support to the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process.  Configures and manages operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoots, maintains integrity and configures network components along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.  
 
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in computer science, information systems, engineering or other related discipline plus at least ten (10) years of systems engineering experience OR
  • A Master’s degree or PhD may be substituted for two (2) years of experience, for a total of eight (8) years of experience OR
  • A high school diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Experience with Networking – Cisco – Switches/Routing
  • Experience with Scripting/Automated administration
  • Experience with McAfee EPOLICY Orchestration
  • Windows Server 2016 – Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, etc.
  • Windows 10 – OS templates and hardening
  • Experience with operating systems and network architectures.
  • Experience drafting documentation, such as FAQs and internal knowledge articles.
  • Experience in software development processes and using ticketing systems like JIRA or Redmine.
  • Knowledge of Vrealize automation or VMWare Horizon View or VMWare NSX
  • Demonstrates customer-service focus and responsiveness.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills as well as written and verbal communication skills.
 
HIGHLY DESIRED / PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience with Vrealize automation or VMWare Horizon View or VMWare NSX
  • Experience with SPLUNK
  • Experience in SELinux Policy
  • Experience with DEVOPS and containerization management
  • Experience with Tower Ansible or other (i.e., Puppet or Chef or Salt)
  • Experience in Firewall Palo Alto or other Roughing/Firewall technology.
  • Experience with Cross Domain Services.
