The incumbent Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for providing data architecture and data engineering support in the area of cybersecurity data architecture and engineering requirements, capabilities and functions. Primary responsibilities include evaluating the current data architecture and data engineering focusing on requirements, processes, and data-flow. 

The incumbent SE will propose changes necessary to capture and access data from across the organization’s enterprise that enable corporate acquisition and decision-making processes, with emphasis on operational decisions.  The SE will produce deliverables, with special focus on operational data requirements, supporting the creation of the Integrated Enterprise Architecture (IEA), including Enterprise-, Segment-, and Program- level viewpoints based on a data-driven concept derived from industry standards and frameworks.  The SE will also review specified external architectures and policy to assess impact on the IEA.

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or other related discipline from an accredited college or university, plus at least twenty (20) years of Systems Engineering experience OR
  • A Master’s degree in a qualified Engineering field or a related discipline from an accredited college or university plus eighteen (18) years of general systems engineering experience OR
  • A High School Diploma or GED plus twenty four (24) years of systems engineering experience would also be acceptable in lieu of degree.
  • Demonstrated enterprise architecture development experience, particularly in the areas of data architecting and data engineering. Experience developing architectural artifacts from approved requirements.
  • Experience with business process engineering - successful candidates will be detail oriented and exhibit strong organizational skills.
  • Experience in applying the DoDAF, Zachman Framework, the Federal Enterprise Architecture (FEA) Framework, or other relative architecture frameworks towards documenting architecture artifacts.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including demonstrated ability to comfortably interact with all levels of organization management while operating in a dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
PREFFERED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE (preferred, but not mandatory):
  • Cyber domain experience.
  • Previous experience using CAMEO as an architecture development tool.
  • Experience with reference architecture design and mapping.
  • INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional certification.
