Job Description:
Kenjya-Trusant is seeking a candidate to fill the role of a program assistant to support the increased workload resulting from the expansion in the number of refugees resettled in FY 2016 and FY 2017. The Program Assistant would report to the Domestic Resettlement Section Chief in the Bureau’s Office of Admissions.
Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Work with the domestic resettlement team in Admissions to assist with formulating responses to Congressional inquiries, requests for information from state and local governments, and  both offers of assistance and complaints from the general public;
  • Coordinate follow-up actions on Admissions Workshop work plans and progress  reports, including tracking activities, monitoring progress and reporting regularly to  Admissions staff and management;
  • Support the planning and implementation of the 2016 Refugee Admissions Workshop;
  • Assist with revisions to affiliate monitoring tools and compliance assessment examples and guidance;
  • Review and prepare data in advance of Resettlement Agency headquarters monitoring;
  • Manage responses on errors in Forms I-94;
  • Update and complete domestic resettlement standard operating procedures;
  • Organize current talking points on domestic topics.
Required Experience:
  • Organize and analyze data
  • Draft responses to interested stakeholders on a wide variety of resettlement issues for review by Section Chief
  • Coordinate workshop logistics 
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a suitable security clearance and DoS badge
Clearance Requirement - Secret
