(SB) System Engineer Level 2 (TS/SCI w/Poly)

System Engineer II / Agile Product Owner is needed to support an existing project in the Annapolis Junction MD area.  
 

Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:

  • Lead innovative solutions for the future, overseeing the high-assurance project from start to finish
  • Manage and motivate the entire team, and communicating/collaborating with our broader platform team and executive leadership.
  • Define and maintain the structure of the high-assurance solution by making sure that the product and the Product Increments meet functional, security, and performance requirements.
  • Help one or more Agile team(s) work together in an Agile fashion such that they jointly own the solution, and make and keep commitments.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining agile project artifacts including product backlog and planning artifacts.

Qualifications: 

  • Clearance     TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
  • Education
    • ​​​​​​​Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. 
    • 5 additional years SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree  
  • Experience Required
    • 14 years experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. 
    • Proven experience as a system/software security engineer
    • Proven experience in agile system/software development
    • Software development experience in one of the following core languages: Java, JavaScript, C/C++, Go, Rust, Python
    • Experience with web-related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, and Service Oriented Architectures) and network/web-related protocols
  • Experience Preferred
    • ​​​​​​​Detail​ technical knowledge of techniques, standards, and state-of-the-art capabilities for authentication and authorization, applied cryptography, security vulnerabilities, and Remediation
    • Experience profiling open standards ( IETF, W3C, etc. ) for specific security requirement
    • Experience building and validating security mechanisms in software and systems
    • Familiarity with Security Software Development Lifecycles
    • Familiarity with FIPS and NIST 800 Series Security Requirements and Specifications
  • Soft Skills
    • ​​​​​​​Good leadership, decision-making, and organization skills
    • Good working knowledge of project estimation techniques
    • Strong attention to detail and multi-tasking skills
